A Missing Person Mystery As Coast Guard Searches Detroit River

UPDATE:  6:50 p.m. The U.S. Coast Guard has called off the search as they were unable to confirm that there is actually a person missing.

DETROIT (WWJ) – Developing news from near Trenton where the U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a person in the Detroit River.

The Coast Guard is asking for the public’s help because there are no reports of a missing person and there were no distress calls.

But, the Coast Guard took a call from Wyandotte Police that said a pile of clothes was found on a bench along the Trenton Channel.

There are three Coast Guard Auxiliary boat crews, one rescue boat crew and a rescue helicopter searching the waters near the Trenton Channel.
