Keego Harbor Man Killed In I-75 Rollover Crash
BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - A 37-year-old Keego Harbor man died Monday morning in a crash along I-75.
Police closed the southbound lanes of the freeway at Square Lake Road for part of the morning rush hour commute after the crash occurred at around 4 a.m.
Police said Nicholas Mario Orlandino was the only occupant of the older model Buick that somehow missed the curve and flipped over in a ditch off southbound I-75 beneath the Square Lake road overpass, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt.
Authorities say there was a strong smell of alcohol at the scene. There was no word as to whether the victim had been wearing a seat belt.
What caused the crash is still under investigation, police said, asking any witnesses to call 248 433-7749.
The roadway re-opened at about 7:15 a.m., with traffic starting to move more freely.
