Celebrate Restaurant Week In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's your chance to enjoy fine dining in the D on the cheap.

Friday marks the start of Detroit Restaurant Week, and 17 restaurants are serving up specially priced three-course dinners starting a $30 per person.

"You get a fantastic meal actually," said Chef Paul Grosz, owner of Cuisine in Detroit's New Center. "It's really a great way to ... try something new or to go to one of your favorite restaurants and just take advantage of it."

Grosz described a few hot items on the menu.

"I came up with a new soup. It's a crab barley soup -- it's a great fall item. We're showcasing our braised beef short ribs and flying in daily, the Alaskan Halibut. And then I took a chicken breast and we're stuffing it with some duck meat -- it's kinda a neat thing." Grosz said.

Other participating restaurants include: 24Grille – Westin Book Cadillac Detroit , Andiamo Detroit Riverfront – GM Ren Cen, Angelina Italian Bistro – Downtown, Atlas Global Bistro – Midtown, Caucus Club – Penobscot Building, Cliff Bell's – Downtown, Coach Insignia – GM Ren Cen, Da Edoardo Foxtown Grille – Foxtown, Detroit Seafood Market – Paradise Valley, Fountain Bistro – Campus Martius Park, Iridescence – MotorCity Casino-Hotel, La Dolce Vita – Palmer Woods District.
