Novi Career Fair Offers Up To 4,000 Engineering Jobs

NOVI (WWJ) As the economy continues to rebound, more than 60 employers are accepting resumes for up to 4,000 open positions during a job fair held by the Engineering Society of Detroit at the Suburban Collection.

The event continues until 7 p.m. Monday.

Among the big-name firms on site was Chrysler Group LLC, which was looking for engineers and hourly employees.

"We have a number of different positions at Chrysler right now, we're looking for very qualified engineers, we're also looking for hourly folks, we have, I would say, probably 500 openings, various locations throughout the U.S., many of them in metro Detroit, some of them in Illinois and in Indiana -- throughout our manufacturing facilities. Susan Stuarts said

Pay for Chrysler jobs ranged from the mid-five figures up to six figures.

"We all have different kinds of technical and engineering jobs here, all different kinds of levels, as a matter of fact even internships, if somebody is looking for an internship they would be wise to come here," said Darlene Trudell, executive vice president of the Engineering Society.

Members can attend free; there's a $15 charge for non-members.
