DETROIT (WWJ) – Those orange barrels will be out in full force this weekend in metro Detroit.
Save yourself some time and hassle by planning your route ahead of time to avoid the following road work areas announced by MDOT.
As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
In Wayne County, northbound and southbound I-275 will have a single lane open between Van Born and Plymouth roads from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing bridge work. In addition, the ramps from Ann Arbor Road to northbound and southbound I-275 will be closed during the same time frame.
In Wayne County, starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday, the ramp from westbound US-12 to northbound I-275 will be closed until late November for ongoing bridge work. Crews will open the ramp from eastbound US-12 to northbound I-275 as the detour.
In Oakland County, southbound I-75 will have two lanes closed from M-15 to Clintonville Road from 9 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Sunday for pavement repair.
In Oakland County, the right lane of eastbound I-696 will be closed at Halsted Road from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday for maintenance work.
In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane between County Line and 23 Mile roads from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday for ongoing road work.
In Detroit, eastbound I-94 will have the left lane closed from Chene Street to Gratiot Ave from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday for freeway lighting inspections.
In Wayne County, the left lane of the two-lane roadway leading eastbound I-94 to Merriman and Middlebelt roads will be closed from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for barrier wall repair.
M-1 (Woodward Avenue):
In Oakland County, northbound and southbound Woodward Ave will be reduced to a single lane between 10 Mile and 14 Mile roads from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday for ongoing road work.
In Detroit, a permit has been issued for a Wayne State lighted bike parade to close two lanes of southbound Woodward from Ferry Street to Mack Ave from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday.
M-10 (Lodge Freeway):
In Detroit, the left lane of northbound M-10 will be closed from Davison to Livernois avenues from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday for lighting inspections.
M-39 (Southfield Freeway):
In Detroit, the left lane of northbound and southbound M-39 will be closed between I-96 and McNichols Road from 5 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday for median work.
