Riverview Firefighter Remembered As Friend To All

RIVERVIEW (WWJ) - A longtime Riverview firefighter is being remembered as someone who made friends everywhere he went. Funeral services for 49-year-old John Grabowski were held Saturday following his death last week.

Captain Craig Williamson says Grabowski will be missed by everyone at the Riverview Fire Department.

"He knew his job well; we knew he would always have our backs and we would have his. Everyday he exhibited the passion, he tried, he had a lot of heart ... he had all the traits that make a firefighter really good," said Williamson.

Williamson says Grabowski was heavily involved in charity work ... always thinking about those who were less-fortunate.
