Advanced Photonix Appoints Donald C. Pastor as Non-Executive Chairman: Ann Arbor-based Advanced Photonix Inc. (NYSE Amex: API) announced that the company separated the roles of board chairman and CEO, appointing Donald C. Pastor the non-executive chairman of the company. Pastor has been on the board as an independent director since July 2005 and currently chairs the compensation committee and services on the audit committee. He has more than 30 years of experience as a senior executive with companies in the technology and defense industries, and has successfully served as a CEO, CFO and division level president in both start-up and turnaround situations. In his new role Pastor will take a more prominent role in monitoring the implementation of the board's business strategies, in the development of enhanced reporting mechanisms, and in the communications between the board and Richard Kurtz, who has been CEO since February 2003 and who will continue to oversee day-to-day operations.
