DETROIT — To support growing demand for advanced mobile devices and applications, AT&T announced the activation of a new mobile internet cell site in Sterling Heights near Ryan Road and M-59 that will enhance coverage for area residents and businesses.

The new cell site is one part of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to drive investment and innovation to deliver the nation’s best, most advanced mobile Internet experience for customers.  AT&T has the nation’s largest 4G network, which provides accelerated mobile data speeds and simultaneous voice and data capabilities.

AT&T’s mobile Internet network is based on the 3rd Generation Partnership Project family of technologies that includes GSM and UMTS, the most widely used wireless network platforms in the world.
