Fenton Resident Named Head Of Michigan Film Office

LANSING (AP) - Secretary of state official Margaret O'Riley of Fenton has been named director of the Michigan Film Office.

Gov. Rick Snyder announced O'Riley's appointment on Friday. It's effective Oct. 29.

She fills the vacancy created by Carrie Jones, who is leaving to become executive director of the Michigan Venture Capital Association.

O'Riley is director of strategic planning for the Michigan Department of State. She previously served as founder and president of O'Riley Consulting, which provides tax-related services, marketing strategies and government relations counsel to businesses and local and state government entities.

The Michigan Film Office attracts incoming production companies and promotes the growth of the state's film industry. It's housed within the Michigan Economic Development Corp.
