Pedestrian Accident Kills 75-Year-Old Man, Driver In Custody

DEARBORN (WWJ) – A 49-year-old Detroit woman is being held in jail in connection with the death of a 75-year-old Dearborn man, who was struck and killed by a car as he was trying to cross Warren Avenue near Coleman Street.

“(The) gentlemen was walking across Warren Avenue near Coleman Street and the driver … was driving a white Town & Country van,” said Seeley.

“She struck him; he was transported by our rescue to Oakwood Hospital, where he was pronounced dead,” said Police Sergeant Robert Seeley.

Seeley says the suspect’s identity has not yet been released.

The driver remains in police custody.
