DETROIT (WWJ) - A 21-year-old Roseville woman has died after an early morning rollover accident on I-94 on Detroit’s east side.

Michigan State Police say the woman was wearing a seatbelt when her car flipped in the westbound lanes of I-94 between Van Dyke and Mt. Elliot around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The Detroit Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene and had to extricate the woman, whose name wasn’t immediately released.

Investigators say the roads were wet, but it’s unclear if that played a part in the crash. It’s unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
