FERNDALE (WWJ) – Six students at Taft Adult Education Center in Ferndale following a fight involving a street gang.

According to police, members of a gang called “Band Crew” were ejected from the school on Wednesday when they tried to pick a fight with another student.

A large fight broke out later in the day involving those same students and an officer used a Taser to subdue one of them. Six students were arrested for their involvement in the incident.

Five males, three 18-year-olds and two 17-year-olds, remained in custody on Thursday; one 18-year-old female was released, pending further investigation. The young men were expected to be arraigned later in the day. No names were immediately released.  No serious injuries were reported.
