MOUNT MORRIS TWP. (WWJ/AP) – Police say a 25-year-old woman was left severely beaten and naked in a ditch in Genesee County.
Ashley Lucier was listed in critical condition on Friday. She was found Thursday morning clinging to life in a ditch along West Carpenter Road, between Webster and Elms roads in Mount Morris Township.
Some passersby, believed to be students at Flushing High School, found Lucier around 9 a.m., covered her and called 911, The Flint Journal reported.
Police say there were more than 50 vehicles in the area of the crime scene that were stopped by officers in hopes that someone saw something.
Police don’t know how long Lucier was laying in the ditch.
Lucier was taken to the hospital where she was immediately taken into surgery, police said. They did not elaborate on the type of injuries she sustained.
Anyone with information is asked to call Mt. Morris Township Police at 810-785-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
