Valenti And Foster: Monday Afternoon Quarterback With Matt Stafford

DETROIT (97.1 THE TICKET) – Mike Valenti and Terry Foster went head-to-head with Detroit Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford on 97.1 The Ticket Monday.

Detroit dominated the game from start to finish, building a solid lead before halftime and coasting after the break. It was a much different feeling for the Lions (4-4), who trailed in the second half in each of their other wins.

Valenti noted that the Lions started strong and stayed strong and asked Stafford if it was satisfying to win another way.

"You get to be balanced that way, " said Stafford. "It's awesome, we needed to capitalize early  in the season and we didn't but happy it's happening now."

Foster asked Stafford about Joique Bell's running game: "(Bell had a) great preseason, when he gets the ball in his hands he knows what to do - he's a great runner, jumping over guys, spinning ... he young - he's got a lot of talent."

Post-game Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said it was important for the team to hit the .500 mark:

"(We had to) fight our way back to .500, that was the most important thing," said Schwartz. "We were just sort of methodical … we were able to finish the game."

Post-season and playoff possibilities came into the conversation: "It's yet to be seen, you don't pick the playoff team at the beginning ... we'll continue fighting our way," said Stafford
