Plex Systems Partners With Actify, Allowing Direct Access to CAD Data
TROY — Plex Systems Inc., provider of the Plex Online cloud-based manufacturing management system, and Actify Inc. announced a strategic partnership to service manufacturers leveraging CAD functionality.
With the integration of Actify’s product knowledge services, Plex Online users can directly access 3D and 2D CAD data from within Plex Online without the application of CAD software. This integration will provide manufacturers automatic real-time access to engineering information. Actify’s Centro provides the necessary interface to automate the gathering, organizing and sharing of 3D data and associated metadata onto a central server, including PMI-tolerances, measurements and other information from all major 3D and 2D CAD formats.
Said Plex vice president of products Patrick Fetterman: “Actify’s solution enhances Plex Online’s capabilities in providing real-time information — from the shop floor to the top floor.”
Added Actify president and CEO Chris Jones: “The ability to seamlessly access CAD data and associated meta data can be a critical differentiator for manufacturers and we’re excited to bring this functionality to the community of Plex Online users.”
Plex Online offers functions for virtually every department within a manufacturer, including manufacturing execution system and quality management system for the shop floor, supply chain management for procurement, enterprise resource planning for finance and management, and business intelligence for executive management. Plex Online’s comprehensive functional coverage delivers a “shop floor to top floor” view of a manufacturer’s operations, enabling management to run its business at maximum efficiency.
