BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) – Bloomfield Township police continue to investigate two fatal accidents that took place on Saturday.

Earlier Saturday evening, a pickup truck collided into a sedan that had broken down in the left lane on southbound Telegraph near Orchard Lake Road. The crash killed the car’s owner who was under the back of the vehicle. His passenger received minor injuries. The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

Just a couple hours later, police say an 18-year-old Bloomfield Township resident crossing the tracks was hit by an oncoming Amtrak train near Kensington and Big Beaver. That resident was pronounced dead at the scene. The 11 passengers on board the train were not injured.
