Boy Shoots Sister In Eye With Pellet Gun

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Police say a 14-year-old girl was shot in the eye with an airsoft pellet fired by her 11-year-old brother.

The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday at a home on the 300 block of Going Street, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Auburn Avenue in Pontiac.

Police say the boy told officers that he was playing with the pellet gun in the front yard when it discharged and struck his sister, who was taking out the trash.

EMS at the scene said the pellet lodged in the girl's eye. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, although information about her condition hasn't been released.

Oakland County Sheriff's Deputies who interviewed the boy and his mother say the incident appears to be accidental.
