Hundreds Usher In The Holiday Season With Tree Lighting

DETROIT (WWJ) - A packed Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit Friday evening for the annual tree lighting ceremony.

Seven-year-old Anthony Blue of Detroit knows location is everything as he told WWJ's Stephanie Davis: "I saw a Christmas tree and I saw a good view of it," Blue said.

He said it looked like Christmas when all the lights were magically lit on the tree.

Mary Grabo came to the ceremony with family and thought it was "just wonderful".

"We get to see a lot of diversity, get to expose the children to downtown Detroit," said Grabo.

The event was shared in part with the Salvation Army who launched their 'Red Kettle' campaign in Detroit with the lighting of a giant red kettle. (Read More Here)
