Police Investigate Deadly Accident In Milford

MILFORD (WWJ) - Police in Milford say one person is dead and another injured after a two car crash Saturday morning.

Police Chief Thomas Lindberg told WWJ the accident happened around 5:40 a.m. on Milford Road, just south of General Motors Road.

"One had been traveling south on Milford Road, the other was going north on Milford Road, and there was a collision. One of the vehicles ended up a short distance off the road," he said.

Lindberg said a 38-year-old Milford woman was declared dead at the scene, while a 17-year-old female from White Lake Township was rushed to Botsford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Their identities were not immediately released.

Lindberg said there was dense fog throughout the region at the time of the crash and alcohol is suspected to have been a factor.

Milford Road was closed in both directions for several hours while police investigated the crash, but has since reopened.

An investigation is ongoing.
