DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police say two people are dead after an apparent verbal argument led to gunfire on the city’s west side Monday night.

Police say the incident happened around 7:50 p.m. in the area of Glastonbury and 8 Mile roads, just west of the Southfield Freeway.

According to police, a verbal altercation was heard, followed by shots being fired. Officers arrived on the scene and found a 55-year-old man and another man lying in the driveway of a home with fatal gunshot wounds.

Reports say one of the victims was the stepfather of a Detroit police officer. Names were not immediately released.
