TROY — Staying up-to-date on events from Automation Alley and connecting with its members is now easier than ever.

Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association, has announced the launch of a mobile Web site, making navigating www.automationalley.com from your smartphone or tablet faster and more user-friendly.

“People are consuming information on mobile devices more than ever,” said Automation Alley executive director Ken Rogers. “Automation Alley exists to grow the innovation cluster of Southeast Michigan. We believe in a bright technology future, and keeping our members connected with this new mobile Web site is doing just that.”

Automation Alley’s mobile Web site is helping members achieve success by becoming more visible to the growing number of Internet users on the go.

The site was developed by Fourstream USA, an Automation Alley member, a mobile Web app developer in Keego Harbor that is a subsidiary of a Swedish firm.

According to Mashable.com, which reports on the importance of digital innovation and how it empowers and inspires people around the world, 91 percent of smartphone owners have their phone within three feet at all times. And in the past three years, more than 300,000 apps have been developed. In 2011, 17.7 billion apps were downloaded. By 2015, that number should grow to 108 billion.

Features of Automation Alley’s mobile site include a member directory with contact information for member businesses, including a hyperlink to their Web site. The directory is easily searched by industry.

Visit www.automationalley.com from your smartphone or tablet and check out the mobile site today.
