Santa And Food Trucks Visit Royal Oak Farmers Market

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) It may be hump day, but that’s no reason to feel world-weary — Get through your midweek with food and festivity.

Royal Oak Farmers Market, on 11 Mile Road just outside the heart of downtown, is hosting one of its popular food truck rallies Wednesday, Dec. 5. And this one has a special twist: Santa Claus is coming to town.

While you wait in line for tasty treats from  Motor City’s finest food trucks, including The Mac Shack, El Guapo, Green Zebra, Jacque’s Tacos, Dago Joe’s, and Frank’s Anatra — the kids can be checking out the Jolly Old Elf.

Santa will be there throughout the 5 to 9 p.m. event.

There will also be live entertainment inside the building and more fun for the whole family.

Food truck rallies at Royal Oak Farmers Market have become a popular attraction, with hundreds of people lining up for tasty tacos, unique burgers, hot dogs and side dishes. But this could be the biggest rally so far.

“We have added a lot to our food truck rally tomorrow night,” a Farmers Market spokesperson wrote on Facebook. “You can call it The Christmas Extravaganza Food Truck Rally!! We have Santa, Santa’s gift shop where the kids can buy cute & affordable Christmas Gifts for the whole family, live music and 2 bounce houses!! A fun family evening!!!”
