By: Dennis Fithian

This is the December's #Trending. A poll which ranks who is getting talked about the most on the Detroit sports scene. Last month's rankings are in parentheses. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

1. (1) Ndamukong Suh: Spotlight continues to shine week in and week out on Suh.
2. (Not Ranked) Titus Young: Young bolts into the top five for all the wrong reasons.
3. (4) Calvin Johnson: One of the greatest single seasons ever still on tap. Going after Jerry Rice's numbers in 1995 and maybe going after 2,000 receiving yards.
4. (3) Matthew Stafford: Some Lions fans want the team to lose to better the draft position. Have you seen how the losing affects the starting QB?
5. (NR) Anibal Sanchez: Winter meetings and a big contract await.
6. (6) Scott Linehan: Lions offensive coordinator needs to figure out how to get the offense going in the first half.
7. (7) Martin Mayhew: With every loss the last two Lions drafts are more scrutinized.
8. (8) Jim Schwartz: He got the Lions to the playoffs and has a contract extension. Throwing the bad challenge flag on Thanksgiving will be with him forever.
9. (9) Andre Drummond: Pistons rookie big man is ahead of schedule even as Detroit struggles out of the gate.
10. (24) Mike Ilitch: Spending big on the Tigers and getting ready for a new rink by his casino.
11. (NR) Tom Gores: Pistons moving to downtown would create some excitement.
12. (NR) Nick Stauskas: Wolverines guard is listed at 6-6 and shoots from 20 plus out effortlessly.
13. (NR) Keith Appling: Spartan point guard is leading the team in scoring and clutch plays.

15. (NR) Rafael Soriano: Tigers need a closer and he's the best out there.
16. (NR) Scott Boras: Super agent representing Soriano and Sanchez. Package deal to Detroit?
17. (NR) Jim Leyland: Tigers skipper in a good mood talking freely about lineups and moving Gene Lamont off of third base for the upcoming season.
18. (20) Trey Burke: Talk about Michigan basketball all you want. Burke is their best player and will be the key to all the success this season.
19. (13) Brandon Dawson: MSU forward is back from a knee injury and looks 100%.
20. (14) Glenn Robinson III: UM freshman is referred to already as GRIII.

25. (22) Lawrence Frank: The Pistons are the only show in town right now.

Dropping out of the top 25: Gary Harris, Mark Dantonio, Kyle Singler, Miguel Cabrera, Torii Hunter, Denard Robinson, Devin Gardner, Gerald Laird
