Heisman Trophy goes to the most outstanding player in college football. Most outstanding. Not best numbers. Not best player on the best team. I look at the everything then focus in on the player, the numbers and the team. With much deliberation I came down to a tossup between Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o and Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel. Manziel has the numbers and Te’o has the team. You can’t have a tie. Running the table and doing so with all of those goal line stands that the Irish had this season breaks the tie.  My vote goes to the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner: Manti Te’o.

College football best bests: 23-12

Army +7 vs. Navy: Neither team throws the ball at all.  Navy has won ten in a row over Army by an average of 24 points during the decade long win streak. The difference this year will be the best Army QB Trent Stillman.

Prediction: Army 31 Navy 30

Detroit Lions season predictions: 7-5

Green Bay -7 vs. Detroit: Put aside all of the Lions losing at Lambeau over the years and just look at this season.  Detroit can hang with anybody but still lose in crushing fashion at the end. This week will be no different.

Prediction: Green Bay 26 Detroit 23

Pro best bets season: 20-21-2

Atlanta -3.5 @ Carolina: Panthers had the Falcons beat the first time these two teams met in Atlanta. Falcons won’t need a miracle at the end in this one.

Prediction: Atlanta 31 Carolina 23

Chicago -3 @ Minnesota: Never like giving up points in your division on the road but the Bears are the better team.

Prediction: Chicago 24 Minnesota 16

New Orleans +5 @ New York Giants: This one has the feel of the team that has the ball last wins. I’ll take the five points all day long and will not need them.

Prediction: New Orleans 38 New York 35

Seattle -10 vs. Arizona: Wonder how much Cards wish they would have drafted Russell Wilson? AZ can’t score in the Great Northwest you can bet on that.

Prediction: Seattle 24 Arizona 6
