Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - The temperatures might be getting low, but that's not stopping the weekend road construction.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-75:

In Wayne County, the left lanes of northbound and southbound I-75 will be closed at 7 Mile Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday for sign work.

In Oakland County, the right lane of southbound I-75 will be closed at 13 Mile Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday for sign work.

I-94:

In Detroit, eastbound I-94 will have double-lane closures from Dickerson Avenue to Morang Avenue beginning tonight at 9 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. Friday morning.

In Detroit, expect intermittent exit and entrance ramp closures on eastbound and westbound I-94 between Mt. Elliot and Chalmers on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In Macomb County, eastbound I-94 from North River Road to M-59 will have a rolling left-lane closure on Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for median wall work.

I-96:

In Wayne County, eastbound I-96 at Merriman Road will have a one lane closed on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also, the exit ramp from eastbound I-96 to Merriman Road will be closed.

In Wayne County, both eastbound and westbound I-96 will have single-lane closures between Inkster and Middlebelt roads from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Friday and ending on December 21.

I-275:

In Wayne County, the existing two-lane ramp from southbound I-275 to eastbound I-96 will have one lane closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for pavement repairs.

M-19:

In St. Clair County, both directions of M-19 will be closed between South Kennefick Street and Mill Street on Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. for a holiday parade.

M-15:

In Oakland County, both directions of M-15 will be closed between Northview Road and Waldon Road on Saturday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. for a holiday parade.

Beginning the week of Monday, December 10:

I-75:

In Wayne County, the left lane of southbound I-75 will be closed at Davison Avenue from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday for sign work.

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound I-75 between Baldwin Road and M-15 will have single-lane closures from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for two weeks beginning Monday.
