NASHVILLE, Tenn. — One of the many great things about Tigers manager Jim Leyland is you can always count on getting a good quote from him. Whether he’s angry, excited or just calmly offering up his honest take, an extended conversation with him is bound to unearth a beauty of a quote.

And he came through Wednesday with an at-least mildly amusing take on the World Baseball Classic and MLB commissioner Bud Selig.

“The commissioner gets mad at me all the time because I’m not a big — I’m not in big favor of [the WBC] particularly. But I support it because the commissioner said, ‘You better support it,’ and I listen to him, and I don’t want to get kicked off his committee.”
