Hospitals, Healthcare Providers to Benefit from a New Premier Agreement for Hand Hygiene Monitoring Systems: The Charlotte, N.C.-based Premier healthcare alliance announced a new agreement for hand hygiene monitoring systems has been awarded to BioVigil Hygiene Technologies LLC of Ann Arbor. Effective Nov. 1, the agreement is available to acute care and continuum of care members of Premier. Premier is a performance improvement alliance of more than 2,700 U.S. hospitals and 90,000 other sites using the power of collaboration and technology to lead the transformation to coordinated, high-quality, cost-effective care. BioVigil uses a room sensor, a base station, and a badge similar to a standard identification badge. The system is designed to detect and monitor hand washing events and automatically communicate compliance information to base stations located within the facility and securely forward data, with or without using the hospitals local area network, to an internet cloud host for compliance reporting and application functions.
