Man Killed In Rollover Crash On I-75
SOUTHGATE (WWJ) - Michigan State Police say a 53-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash on I-75 Downriver.
The accident happened just after 6 p.m. Wednesday on northbound I-75 near Northline Road in Southgate.
Police say a vehicle driven by John Watson, of Brownstown Township, was traveling in the center lane of the freeway when he lost control, ran over the shoulder, struck a vehicle in the left lane, and ran into the median wall. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof when it was then struck by a semi truck, police said.
Watson was declared dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Police say Watson was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
