3 Dead In Grand Rapids Murder-Suicide

GRAND RAPIDS (AP) - Two women were shot to death in a minivan outside a West Michigan counseling center by a man who then turned the weapon on himself.

The women, ages 21 and 31, were pronounced dead Monday outside Arbor Circle Counseling in Grand Rapids. The 27-year-old man suspected of shooting them later died at an area hospital.

The man and one of the women had attended a counseling session at the facility, Grand Rapids Police Chief Kevin Belk told reporters.

"Upon completing that they left and got into the vehicle when the incident occurred," he said.

Preliminary reports indicate the man was seated behind the women when they were shot. A handgun has been recovered.

He and one of the women also had a child together, according to MLive.com.

Both women and the man were Grand Rapids residents.

Police questioned management of the counseling center following the shooting.
