Funeral Services For EMU Student Found Dead Last Week

MONROE, Mich. (WWJ) - Funeral services will be held this morning for Julia Niswender, the Eastern Michigan University student who died under mysterious circumstances.

Services are at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Baptist Church, in her hometown of Monroe. The 23-year-old was found dead in her off-campus apartment last week.

According to Ypsilanti Police, an autopsy has been performed by the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner. At this time, the cause of Niswender's death is listed as "pending," however, toxicology results should be available in two to three weeks.

Authorities say there were no outward signs of trauma to Niswender's body, however there are indications of possible foul play.

A couple of candlelight vigils were held for Niswender over the weekend.
