WASHINGTON TWP. (WWJ) - Macomb County authorities are looking for tips following the discovery of a woman’s body over the weekend.

The body of 37-year-old Sandra Lee Loepp was spotted by a passing motorist Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Washington Mobile Home Park, near Van Dyke and 28 Mile Road, in Washington Township.

Macomb County Sheriff’s officials said an investigation revealed Loepp left a local bar at about 1 a.m. on Sunday and was walking northbound on either the shoulder or the roadway of Old Van Dyke when she was hit and then dragged by a vehicle.

Investigators believe car that struck Loepp will have damage to the front end as well as the passenger side of the vehicle.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said some evidence was collected at the scene and is currently being analyzed.

“Right how we have absolutely nothing to go on,” Wickertham told WWJ Newsradio 950. “We have a few parts and debris that we’ve picked up. Our investigators are working and hope to identify those pieces, though they’re small.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 586-307-9412 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
