Drunk Driving May Be Factor In Crash That Left 2 Hospitalized

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Michigan State Police say drunk driving may be to blame for an accident on M-14 near Ann Arbor that sent two people to the hospital.

The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound M-14 near Barton Drive.

Investigators say a man and woman from Ypsilanti were injured in the crash and taken to the University of Michigan Medical Center. Their current conditions are unknown.

A car driven by a Livonia man was also involved, although police aren't saying if that man was hurt.

Police say initial evidence leads them to believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The freeway was shutdown for a couple of hours overnight as troopers conducted their investigation, but has since reopened.

Identities of those involved weren't immediately released.
