INDEPENDENCE TWP. (CBS Detroit) An Oakland County man has a skull fracture after his teen son, allegedly high on drugs, hit him in the head with a hammer, police said.
Sheriff deputies arrested a 19-year old early Friday morning at a home on North Ridge Trail. The father was asleep when he was hit with the two-pound metal mallet. The father was conscious when he was taken to the hospital. Along with the head wound, the man also has broken bones in his arm and hand.
The father is in guarded condition at a local hospital, police said.
The son was taken to the hospital for treatment of a suspected drug overdose. He’s expected to be transferred to jail once out of the hospital.
