BINGHAM FARMS (WWJ) – For many people, pets are members of the family — and when they die, it can be devastating. The Michigan Humane Society has created a group for those grieving the loss of a pet.

The Paw Prints Grief Support Group’s first meeting is taking place Saturday at the society’s administrative office in Bingham Farms.

Participants can talk openly about their experience and are encouraged to share photographs and other pet mementos. The free service will be held on the first Saturday of every month.

The support group is free but participants are encouraged to bring items from the online MHS Wish List.
