Redford Police Seek Man Who Offered Child Candy

REDFORD (WWJ) – It’s a reported case of stranger danger in Redford as police investigate a suspicious incident.

Investigators said a 6-year-old girl was on the sidewalk, in the area of Inkster and 7 Mile Road, when she was approached by a white male driving a newer model red Ford Fusion.

The man asked the girl if she wanted some candy and she ran. The man drove away. The incident was witnessed by the girl’s mother, who called the police.  It happened at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

No one was hurt.

The suspect (depicted in the composite image at left) is described as a middle-aged white man with short black hair. He was wearing glasses with a silver frame and possibly silver lenses, a red coat and a red shirt.
