3 Separate Accidents Leave 2 Dead, Several Injured

CANTON (WWJ) - Ford Road remains closed, between Ridge and Napier Road, as police investigate an accident. Investigators say a vehicle being driven by a 27-year old Canton woman was traveling eastbound on Ford Road.

Witnesses say the vehicle crossed over into the westbound lane and was struck head-on by a semi-tractor being driven by a 61-year old male. The impact of the collision pushed the passenger vehicle back into the eastbound lane where it was then struck by a car being driven by a 26-year old Garden City woman.

The 27-year old female driver was airlifted to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The 26-year old driver was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.

The driver of the semi-truck was treated at the scene.

In Troy, an accident at 1-75 and Long Lake has killed one person.  The crash shut down the freeway during the afternoon rush Friday. No word from police on what caused that crash.

And in Farmington Hills, a woman was hit and killed while walking Friday evening. Reports say she was crossing outside of the crosswalk at Grand River near Drake.
