Bodies Of Man, Dog Found After Fire In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) – Police say the bodies of a 50-year-old man and his dog were found following a house fire on the city’s west side.

Investigators made the discovery Wednesday morning following an overnight fire at a home on Auburn Street, near Warren and Evergreen.

Officials believe it was an accidental electrical fire. Investigators say early signs indicate the fire started in a speaker in the living room, creating smoke that likely killed the man and his pet as they slept.

The man’s identity was not immediately released.

An investigation is ongoing.
