Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run On 8 Mile Road
EASTPOINTE (WWJ) - Police in Eastpointe are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver that claimed the life of a pedestrian overnight.
Lt. Eric Kaiser said the victim, a 50-year-old woman, was struck while trying to cross 8 Mile Road at Gratiot around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. After striking the woman, the suspect apparently left the scene without stopping.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity wasn't immediately released.
Police are now searching for a white or silver-colored older model Chrysler sedan, possibly a Dodge Intrepid. The sedan would most likely have significant front-end damage from the incident, according to police.
