Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - While major road work projects have wrapped up for the winter season, some lane closures are planned this weekend in metro Detroit.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-75:

In Detroit, expect overnight double-lane closures on southbound I-75 from Livernois Avenue to Green Street from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. beginning Thursday, Jan. 10, and ending Saturday, Jan. 12, for utility work.

I-94:

In St. Clair County, the left lane of westbound I-94 will be closed at Black River on Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. for bridge work.

US-24 (Telegraph Road):

In Wayne County, northbound Telegraph Road near Plymouth Road will have one lane closed daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. beginning Thursday, Jan. 10, through the first week of February for permit work.

M-39:

In Wayne County, one lane of northbound M-39 just north of I-75 will be closed daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. beginning Thursday, Jan. 10, through the first week of February for permit work.

M-85 (Fort Street):

In Wayne County, both directions of Fort Street at M-39 will have single-lane closures daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. beginning Thursday, Jan. 10, through the first week of February for permit work.

M-97 (Groesbeck Highway):

In Macomb County, northbound and southbound M-97 between Hayes and 14 Mile roads will have intermittent single-lane closures daily from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. until the end of January for signal upgrades.

Beginning the week of Monday, January 14:

I-75:

In Detroit, the left lanes of northbound and southbound I-75 will be closed intermittently from I-94 to Davison Avenue from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for sign work. Only one direction will be closed at a time.

In Oakland County, the right lane of southbound I-75 at 13 Mile Road will be closed daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday for sign work.
