Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the weekend again, which means it's time for some road work and intermittent lane closures.
The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
I-94:
In Detroit/Wayne County, ongoing overnight single lane closures on eastbound I-94, from French Road to 8 Mile Road, and on westbound I-94, from Outer Drive to French Road, starting at 9 p.m. and ending by 9 a.m. on weekends and from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on weekdays for sign and lighting upgrades.
In Wayne County, the eastbound I-94 exit to Moross Road will be closed from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday for maintenance.
I-75:
In Wayne County, the left lane is closed on southbound I-75 at Davison Avenue from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday for sign upgrading.
US-24 (Dixie Hwy):
In Oakland County, permit work will require a single lane closure in both directions of Dixie Highway at Farner Avenue beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and ending by 6 a.m. Monday.
M-53 (Van Dyke):
In Wayne County, utility work will require a right lane closure of southbound M-53 from Harper to Lambert beginning Friday at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Beginning the week of Monday, Jan. 28:
I-94:
In Detroit, expect double lane closures on both directions of I-94 between Junction and Wyoming avenues nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning starting Monday and ending on Thursday for ongoing bridge work.
I-75:
In Wayne County, the left lane on southbound I-75 at Davison Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday for sign work.
In Oakland County, the left lane on northbound I-75 Business Loop (Square Lake Road) ramp to northbound I-75 will be closed for bridge maintenance from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily on Monday and Tuesday.
US-24:
In Oakland County, both directions of Dixie Highway at Frembes Road will have intermittent nightly lane closures beginning at 9 p.m. and ending by 6 a.m. the following morning. These lane closures begin Monday and will end in late February.
M-150:
In Oakland County, utility work will require a right lane closure on southbound Rochester Road at University Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, starting Monday and ending Wednesday.
M-59:
In Oakland County, utility work will require a right lane closure on eastbound M-59 at Shoman Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, starting Monday and ending Thursday.
