What's On The Menu For Kilpatrick This Weekend
DETROIT (WWJ) - Friday afternoon we learned the ex-mayor of Detroit will be heading back to prison due to parole violations.
But as WWJ's Kathryn Larson reports Kilpatrick won't go hungry in the big house tonight.
While it may not be dinner at the Ritz the menu doesn't sound half bad. Kilpatrick will have a choice of a 4 oz fish or 6 oz bean pattie burger.
Michigan Department of Corrections Spokesman Russ Marlan says he's not sure whether it will a be perch or talapia but does know a bit more about that vegetarian option.
"The bean patty, which is like a hamburger, only (it's) made out of vegetables and beans," said Marlan.
And that's not all - imagine a rice and carrot salad - rice pilaf- and for dessert - an applesauce cake.
So what does Marlan suggest Kilpatrick have for dinner? "If I were there, I'd go with the fish."
The Michigan Department of Corrections served Kilpatrick Thursday night with 14 parole violation charges. Kilpatrick went directly to jail Friday afternoon after listening to a full day of testimony in his federal corruption trial.
