No Charges In Construction Worker's Death On I-94

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ/AP) - Prosecutors have decided against bringing charges in a Michigan construction worker's death along I-94 last year.

Michigan State Police say they submitted a warrant package to the Macomb County prosecutor's office earlier this week, but the charges weren't authorized.

Justin Vallad of Standish died in a March 10, 2012, traffic incident. The 26-year-old was employed by Surveying Solutions, which was contracted by the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Witnesses told police an SUV was it was rear-ended by a semi truck in the construction lane Vallad was working in. The impact thrust the SUV into the side of the road where it fatally struck Vallad.
