Sandra Bernhard Talks To Stoney And Bill

By: Bill McAllister

On several occasions on the Stoney and Bill Show we've mentioned Stoney's 30-year crush on comedian Sandra Bernhard. We both used to watch her many appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman and loved the way she interacted with Dave. She was funny, flirty, bawdy and seemed as though she was doing anything to make Letterman uneasy. It usually worked, not just on Dave but also on Stoney.

Sandra will be appearing this weekend at The Ark in Ann Arbor and we will be in attendance Friday night and we can't wait! She talked to us this morning and couldn't have been more charming. Stoney is a married man but clearly, the crush has been re-ignited. It turns out she is a pretty big sports fan. We asked her who she was rooting for in the Super Bowl and she replied, "The Ravens, I just like their story better." She went on to say, "It's (the Raven's story) a better narrative and no New York teams are in it."

We also talked about the fact that she was born in Flint, Michigan. She and her family moved to Arizona when she was ten years old but she talked about, "seeing shows at The Fisher Theater in Detroit." It was kind of cool to hear her say that she considers her upbringing in Michigan to be more beneficial than her life in Arizona.

Stoney and I will be with our wives in the front row Friday night. While my wife is a fan as well, the girls will just have to deal with our admiration.
