2 Seniors With Dementia Found Dead Outside

BRANDON TWP. (WWJ/AP) - Authorities are investigating the separate deaths of two elderly Oakland County residents who suffered from dementia and were found outside.

Autopsies are reportedly being performed on an 83-year-old woman found in Brandon Township and a 75-year-old man in Farmington Hills.

Officials say the woman wandered away from her home and her body was found outside of a neighbor's house. The man was discovered about 150 yards away from his home.

These latest tragedies follow a similar incident over in Wayne County last week in which 87-year-old was found dead in a ditch in Allen Park. She wasn't wearing a hat or a coat.

Also last week, a mentally ill Metro Detroit man was hospitalized for several days after he suffered frostbite while walking around outside with no shoes.
