ST. CLAIR COUNTY (AP) – A Livingston County man accused of abducting his son and taking him out of state without the approval of the boy’s mother has pleaded guilty in the case.

Mark Grabowski of Hartland Township, a onetime Detroit Lions prospect, pleaded guilty to unlawful retention of a child by a parent.

He’ll be sentenced Feb. 28. Authorities say Grabowski took his 11-year-old son to South Dakota in August without the permission of the boy’s mother, who lives in St Clair County.

The FBI found Grabowski and his son on Sept. 7 at a hunting ranch in Platte, South Dakota.
