Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the weekend again, which means it's time for some road work and intermittent lane closures.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-94:

In Detroit/Wayne County, single lane closure on eastbound I-94 from French Road to 8 Mile Road on Saturday 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. In conjunction, eastbound I-94 exits and entrance ramps to both Cadieux and 8 Mile roads are closed during the same time frame.

I-696:

In Macomb County, utility work will require a right lane closure on the eastbound ramp to westbound I-94 on Saturday 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

In Macomb County, the Dequindre entrance ramp to eastbound I-696 is closed for utility work on Saturday 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

US-24 (Dixie Hwy):

In Oakland County, permit work will have a single lane closure in both directions of Dixie Highway at Farner Avenue beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and ending by 6 a.m. Monday.

Beginning the week of Monday, Feb. 4:

I-75:

In Wayne County, the left lane is closed on northbound I-75 at Caniff both Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

M-85 (Fort St):

In Wayne County, permit work will require westbound Fort Street to be reduced to a single lane from St. Anne Street to West Grand Boulevard beginning Monday at 9 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. on Friday. Traffic will be shifted onto the southbound lanes.
