DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit City Council is getting lots of suggestions for creating revenue-generating businesses on Belle Isle now that a state proposal to lease the island was rejected.
Monday’s idea came from resident Cindy Dahra who thinks the Belle Isle Casino could be used by medical marijuana patients.
“My plan is to have a vapor lounge, a marijuana vapor lounge, on the second floor of the casino with an internet cafe. I’ve been to one of these in Toronto – Lake Shore and it’s very pleasant,” said Dahra.
Dahra’s proposal received a simple “Thank you” from Council before moving on to the next agenda item.
