AUBURN HILLS — Oakland Community College is offering three March programs on using social media effectively.
Both programs will be held at OCC’s Auburn Hills campus, 2900 Featherstone Road, one mile east of the Pontiac Silverdome.
In March, OCC’s Continuing Education Department will present two new classes designed to teach participants how to effectively use social media in their employment searches.
Participants will learn about different social media platforms and what they offer — and, for a fresh way to showcase qualifications online, they will learn how to create a “Prezime.”
Two levels of courses, “Beginner,” and “Intermediate,” will be offered. Each two-hour class is $39.
Also, on March 27, OCC’s Continuing Education Department will offer a new program that introduces owners of small and independent businesses to social media. Owners will learn about Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and others, and learn which media will benefit their business the most and bring them closer to their target markets.
The two-hour introductory course on March 27 will teach participants about the various platforms. Tuition is $39.
Follow up in-depth courses in Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, each lasting six hours, will be offered in April, May and June to teach participants how to start posting content and connect with their target markets. Tuition for each is $69. All classes are conducted at the M-TEC facility on OCC’s Auburn Hills Campus.
