SAGINAW — Delta College, the community college serving Saginaw, Bay and Midland counties, was operating without computers at midday Tuesday due to an unspecified server problem.

The college’s Web site,, wasn’t up on the Internet either.

College president Jean Goodnow said she didn’t yet have details of the problems.

“I know we were asked by OIT (the Delta College Office of Information Technology) to shut down our computers because they were concerned about our servers,” Goodnow said. “I don’t really know any more than that right now.”

Efforts to contact OIT staffers have so far been unsuccessful.

Delta College is located north of Saginaw and west of Bay City near I-75 exit 160. It has 11,500 students. It opened in 1961 as a successor to Bay City Junior College.
