Miguel Cabrera To Begin 2013 Baseball Season With Charity Tribute Dinner On April 8, 2013
DETROIT, MICHIGAN: Miguel Cabrera will be honored at a charity tribute dinner in Detroit to begin the 2013 baseball season. Teammates and players from the past and present will join Miguel to celebrate his historic accomplishments of 2012. The event will benefit Miguel's recently established foundation, the Miguel Cabrera Foundation, and the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities.
Proceeds from the event will support baseball field renovations and youth development programs to help at-risk youth in Detroit and beyond. "I know how difficult it can be for underprivileged children to try to achieve their dreams. I have been fortunate to live my dream through baseball, and I'd like to help youth try to live their own," said Miguel.
In 2012, Miguel made history winning the American League Triple Crown, American League Most Valuable Player Award, the American League Hank Aaron Award and a Silver Slugger Award.
The tribute dinner will include meet and greet opportunities, silent and live auctions featuring once-in-a-lifetime memorabilia and experiences, a tribute presentation, and a few surprises for Miguel throughout the evening. The event will be held at The Capital Grille at Somerset Mall in Troy, Michigan, where guests will enjoy a reception and full three-course meal.
